Everytime I type up something and then go to attach picture, i watch the little circle move for hrs and i have to give up and not post. Are we overwhelming it's potential. as an avid poster do all my photos from the past have anything to do with why I am unable to get anything posted.
I end up going to other boards and immediately get posted. So it's not the quality of photo or my skill.

Bonsai Nut is My fav and I'm beginning to feel that the feeling is NOT mutual. Any admin
comment or contact appreciated.

Are you resizing your pics ? Making your pics smaller can help download speeds. Using a new camera/phone ? If downloading from your phone having a wifi connection can make it faster.

Another option (but longer) is going through photobucket (or similar) photo hosting site. I used to do that and is nice especially if you want to post similar pics in other forums.

thanks for your replies...nope no resizing, sam old canon camera as before. nothings changed.
I use the lower resolution to make things work for chatline delievery. I change to High for my magazine work.

Dick, it sounds like it's not finding the files you selected. Double check your folder you picked actually has the photo files in that folder.

it's for new photos, I'm attempting to get into my files so I can post them that I am having problems with. On a couple of occassions i have re-used a file photo and that seems to work just fine.

Are you certain that your photos are formatted Jpeg? Other formats can take longer or not load at all. The fact that you are getting a busy signal may mean you have a problem with your computer in some way. I am currently using an I Mac and have found that if I try to download from a photo program that I have been using for example to process a bunch of vacation photos, the download function has to go through all that stuff to get to the photo you have designated. If you are using a PC, it is possible that you need to clear a lot of stuff off the
Ram.

I have found a reasonable method is to find your photo and download it right to your desk top. Then when you go to the selection process on this site you download it directly to the site rather than having to hunt though a bunch of folders, open those and select the right file. When that's done you simply delete the file off the desk top.

since i never reuse a shot again and have 12 pages of photos, I'm thinking to clear what is stored to see if tht helps. I can see any instructions on how to do that, help please

Not sure but if you do that...all your posted pics might disappear as well. I know how to do it but want to make sure you are aware of the possible ramification if you do that before I teach you.

Take those pages you have and store them on a portable hard drive, Seagate, or WD or on a CD or DVD drive. If you are using a phone camera you might be screwed.

You don't want to clear anything you think you might want or need latter, especially pictures of you children or your bonsai. You clear it you lose it!

That kind of stuff should be stored in some sort of removable storage or on an online back up service. Those things don't care how large the file might be or the format they are in.

Listen to Dario. This stuff is like cutting a branch off a tree then asking if that was OK? What's wrong with this picture?

Picassa Web

Hey Dick, I use picassa web (like photobucket that Dario suggested) to host all of my images...I can upload at full size without any resizing needed...once they are uploaded I select the sharing link and choose the embed "image only" option and copy the url provided. Then I use the url choice, instead of the upload choice, when I go to post...it is a step or two extra but it gives me the most flexibility when embedding images in a post on any forum. Sometimes forums don't like it when you embed images (BSG primarily, they want to own your pictures to insure thread integrity...BNUt also has a box that I sometimes I have to uncheck that actually moves the image to being hosted by this forum but has size limitations attached) but the bottom line is they are your images and do not belong to any forum. None of my images have ever disappeared from any of my posts due to a hosting problem....but I could easily make them all go away with just a click or two. After much time wasted resizing images, I have found it much more friendly to use this method when I post images. It is also very easy to share with anyone when you use cloud hosting.

yeah, don't delete them (please!) - they'll be removed from the site, and any time we want to click on any of your great photos that you posted previously but later deleted, we'll just get a "file not found" message. :(
