Sapling
I had a intro thread earlier, but no one has replied, so I'll post a new thread specifically about my tree.
It is a Willow Leaf Ficus prebonsai, I remember reading it was five years old. If I were to call it a tree as is (my first and only tree, has had no work done and was recieved yesterday) it would be a broom style. It has a unhealed scare on one side. The majority of its branches come from the same spot as other branches, having up to four in the same spot. It has three surface roots, one almost the size of its 3/4 inch trunk. The other two are about half as large as the trunk. The problem is, the nebari is widest where there is a small branch sticking out the middle of the tree, and there are no back branches, it seems flat. Each leaf is an inch long (some defoliation should fix that) and all leaves are at the ends of the branches. I dont plan on working on it until it is the right time of year and the tree has recovered from shipping, but i need to know if you are able to make new leaves grow where there are no buds?
Also: I am prone to personifying inanimate objects, and bonsai trees are no exception. They are either happy, well loved and taken care of, or poor plants that are tortured often with defoliation, repotting, and pruning
