I have 2 bougies and have always seen these plants already in bloom at nurseries, but have never owned one that produced blooms that I could see from the beginning . Mine now has what appears to be small green bracts, though I know the bracts were colored before. Do these bracts change colors from the initial development? Don't have pics yet but can get some.

They start out greenish and turn to their usual red tones - or white - as they mature.

Love my 'bougies' ...... :p

Awesome. Thanks. I'd read that witholding water helped induce bracts, but were keeping mine pretty damp to keep them actively growing so this is a nice surprise. Maybe it was the defoliation I did before spring that prompted this?
