Inspiring oak in Christmas tree lot

I was helping my daughter shop for a Christmas tree (actually she needed me to haul it upstairs to her apartment). In the back of the lot I discovered this big old oak. It looks like it has been growing on its side for a hundred years. I thought I'd better take a picture because it seems as if they are cutting this down limb by limb.

I've seen things like this along drainages in the desert, where it floods periodically, but never one this amazing. Thanks for this, it's beautiful.
