I took these photos today on a hike to North Dome in Yosemite National Park.

Here's a picture of a massive old Oak I photographed this spring before it leafed out this spring. The Picture doesn't express the true ambiance of the tree in real life, but what picture really does. We don't really get nice old conifers like that in the Midwest.

Not quite inspiring, but I think it's close. Pretty much the only tree left with foilage in this section of the marsh I kayak in. Plus the curved trunk really stands out. Don't know what kind of tree it is though. Any ideas?

I pass this oak everyday on the way to work. I finally decided to photograph it (and one more but my battery died).
