So I have found this ceramic slab (really a chinese table tea pot) and I'm thinking about using it in one of my penjings. It´s not cheap (about 70$) so I'm in the fence right now. I guess it's really not a good idea, but would like to hear your thoughts....

It would be used to make an scene with my litle thyoides, and I already have keto ...:

PD: my climate is frost free, so no concerns in that way.

How deep is the negative space? Would it act more like a pot or a slab? Based on the images I would expect it to retain water - if you drilled out some drainage holes it could be pretty interesting

best,
Zak

Yeah, I'm ready to drill holes if necessary.
It drains, but I guess only when you make it drain....

That's neat, I've never encountered a tea pot like that before. I'll be looking forward to seeing the finished piece if you decide to go that route.
