We've been working on getting rid of allergens and random headaches (and migraines) around here. While we're not exactly where we want to be, we've seen a lot of success removing toxins/synthetic chemicals from our everyday habits.

Only cleaning agent I've used is diluted vinegar. Since it's what one uses to clean nebulizers.

My husband is a migraine sufferer. He takes imitrex. It works wonders. Hope you figure your thing out.

Today was the last round of steroids. Hoping I'm done.

Basement has really come along way. Owner of the furniture store came with catalogs and fabric swatches. Forgot the chair magazine. My husband will grab it with her suggestion list.

Chose a clock if the measurements fits my area between floating shelves. She will check measurements. She brought photos of what she had.
We discussed my two different directions...and she explained why the one was a better direction. Helped ground me in the direction I am now going. Ordered my French Mattress for the Book nook...and I'm super excited to see everything come together.

(She came to me...so I wouldn't have to do scents in her store. And to get a feel for the space.)

The basement has been a good distraction. ♥️

I must say...I may have been against this in the beginning. (Nothing really was wrong with the basement before. Nothing wrong with the carpet. Loved the colors of the wall. Which I learned my husband never liked. 🤷)

6-8 weeks on the furniture we ordered. The French Mattress will arrive hand made first for the book nook.

Will be putting up coat hooks on part of the staggered wood. To the right I intend to hang a rustic mirror. We had extra reclaimed wood. And this was my husband's idea. Everyone loves it. I must say...it's a cool feature.

And a four foot barn door. 🥰 The reason for the remodel. I've been admiring the clients jobs where he installs them. Walls are bare...waiting on things to come in that I ordered.

Carpet for the stairs...gets installed on the 9th. 😎 Had to keep the carpeted stairs for Larry. He's so compact that he struggles on then going down.

Waiting on the man door with side lights to come in. So a few still under construction areas down here.

Basically...just waiting. Each piece as they come in will be like adding a piece to the puzzle.

So today I seen the actual pulmonary verses nurse practitioner there.

So Pulmonary specialist comes in. Says I have spongy windpipes in my lungs (bronular tubes)...and sticky mucus. (Usually you see one or the other.) That I must have a high tolerance for pain. Because most are miserable and I don't appear to be. Wait for it. He wants me to change my cough. (Mind you I'm coughing like he told me to when I came here a few years back.) He learned a better technique. So I'm to cough.. when I don't feel like I need to cough. Because I'm dry down there as well. 🤷 Cough and swallow. I feel silly doing it. But...I've actually coughed up stuff from my lungs. So...maybe not so silly after all.

Suggested I get a flu shot. I'm more susceptible to have worse case scenario to anything respiratory.

It shouldn't come as a shock that my respiratory is impared/weak. This is something I will have to deal with. But learning this new technique will help clear my lungs. Making them stronger.

No steroids...just cough.

Keep avoiding triggers and get your lungs clear. 🤦Those are his orders.

He was surprised I didn't need pain meds. I told him my lungs felt fine. And it was hard to believe they were coated in a sticky mucus. He said...that is the trigger to the cough. Trying to clear the lungs. And my windpipes flatten during a cough. Making it practically impossible with sticky mucus. So...during a cough that I feel I need to cough. I'm to fight it but let it come. This will possibly force my windpipes to not close so tightly by not having such a hard cough. Controlling airflow. But it seems foolish. But...is working so. Guess not so foolish.

He said this is the new norm. And I said I went a year and a half without steroids. He said let's try for two next time. But this is the new you.

And to get a flu shot. My respiratory is compromised. I don't need set backs of illnesses that can cause complications. People with asthma and compromised respiratory can die from the flu. That pulled the rug out from under me. He lost his bedside manners today. And was brutally honest.

That was my day. Oh ..and almost two hours from home...and my breaks locked up getting there. Three traffic lights from the doctor. I heard a noise. Jeep starred pulling to the left. Get to the parking lot and it smelled hot. But temp gauge was normal. Step out to investigate and my tire is smoking. So a tow truck ride home. Mechanic said pins fell out of the break. 🤷 Long day.

Just blessed I wasn't stranded along a road. But at the parking lot of the Pulmonary. Still made my appointment and didn't have to reschedule. I'm clearing my lungs finally. Because nothing ever came up before. So that's a move in the right direction.

French Mattress arrived today. I imagine our furniture will be delayed with what is going on in the world. That too is fine. Meantime...we have additional seating with the book nook now(one can sit along the edge)...a recliner and antique rocker. My husband pulled in a lounge chair for the other room for extra seating as well. But with no longer socializing with people. It's just our family. So no biggie with concerns. Love the cushion. My health has been controlled with the 5 prescriptions I take from the pulmonary. Thank you.

Cool floor vase...I worry about ceramics on the floor...with dogs that move furniture. But super cool.

That is great to hear... My son is on generic pulmicort twice daily... we HAVE Prednisolone always “on deck” if he starts “coming down” with anything (as you most-likely know, simple “colds” and “viruses” are quite serious to people in these conditions) and albuterol for “airbags” as his pulminologist calls it. But he rarely ever needs the latter two anymore.

Truly terrifying stuff. 😬

Amazing “space”, also! Looks like a worthy “distraction”... fantastic workmanship/arrangement!

Sounds like you got it figured out for him to remain healthy too. Good to hear.

I was only taking the one prescription when I felt I needed it. He said that's how I backslide. Its to keep me healthy not wait until I feel I need it. Since taking that route...I'm doing great! My nebulizer is stored away.
