Is Cut Paste Useful?

This spring I thought I would try an Ebihara technique and made my cuts backwards so instead of cutting off the top "stump" I put cut paste on just that side of the cut, leaving the much larger side of the tree au naturale.





You can see how much strong the healing is on the smaller side using cut paste.


Compared to the rest of the tree the better healing side is only a single digit percentage of the whole tree.

This fall I am hoping to do similar tests on a few wild trees.

People in my club swear by to paste, and I didn't believe it until I saw it for myself.
I had to prune a branch off earlier in the summer, but it ended up getting fungus (which is very common for apricots). I pruned out the fungus, and covered the new wound with cut paste this time. Here is the progression in only a month or so! To quote Frank's Red Hot, now I use that shit on everything!!!
