This spring I thought I would try an Ebihara technique and made my cuts backwards so instead of cutting off the top "stump" I put cut paste on just that side of the cut, leaving the much larger side of the tree au naturale.
You can see how much strong the healing is on the smaller side using cut paste.
Compared to the rest of the tree the better healing side is only a single digit percentage of the whole tree.
