Is it a fungus or just the tree corking up?

hi all i noticed this on my old elm tree all of the branches are around two to three years old and its only on the new branches not on the trunk or old branch.

Looks normal. I tend to scratch things like this for green. If it's not green....

I'm beginning to thing its the tree corking up or growing wings

This is where the corking or blemishes seem to be happening this pic was taken in early spring before bud break

It is common for elms to cork up like that.

It may be a winged elm.

Some ulmus minor, tend to have corky wings in new shoot. The more sunny and dryer environment, the more corky. IMHO nothing to worry for.
