I have to be away from home for several days next month. I know during the summer this wouldn't work where I have my fukien, but at this point in the year (PA) even though I water every day- could it go for about 4 days? Perhaps cover it with some plastic wrap? The usual family member who takes care of it for me while on vacations is not able to do it this time. I can probably find someone else if necessary.

In your case I would probably take a bowl and let the bottom sliver of the pot sit in water so it can pull watr in. But in a way that if the water drop by say 1/8th inch it wouldnt anymore. That will give a bit of time.

A cheap water pump, timer, and dish will come in under $30.

Put the whole shebang in a clear plastic bag, water it moderately, blow it up and seal it, prop it up where it gets good light but not too long in direct sun and have a good time. This will work for weeks and weeks.
Thais is the best solution.
