i believe it is ultimately ok

I believe so too.

This point, for me, is the point where "other measures" need to be taken on order to keep it "ok" until you can safely Repot it. (Which could be now.)

I did just Repot 2 Siberian Elms that have been severely neglected and had brown spot. They seem to be doing fine.

So is my American elm and another Siberian that were more healthy. All repotted in the last week, all fine.

i have been thinking about repotting honestly, i feel that would clean out most of the ant/pest problem.

I think if i dont disturb the roots i can get away with it. I repotted a maple 2 weeks ago. I know 2 different plants, I might go for it. I did just pick up some "Garden safe Insecticidal soap".

Well the insecticidal soap seems to work on the ants. I am hoping for the best at this point. I will keep every updated.

To whom it may concern,

I have given the elm a dose of epsom salt. That seemed to provide nutritients it was lacking. I also got rid of the any problem by purchasing some organic insecticidal soap. The tree is doing very well. Thanks for all the great feedback and posts.
