One more thing to add: There's some reasonable progress on buds in this tree, which means that whatever happened didn't happen that long ago. The status of those buds will ultimately tell you if the roots are functioning or not. IMO most of the recovery focus should be on what's going on in the roots, and reducing or helping reduce excessive water retention.

If there is a problem with the roots of the tree being wound up in the pot and causing water retention and/or root rot , I personally would cut any wiring holding the tree in the pot, bump the pot and the tree should come right out. Then I would put it in a way bigger pot with well-draining substrate like pumice. One way or the other you need to take a look at the roots and pot conditions ASAP or you are definitely going to loose it. I don't think the problem has anything to do with the move by the way. Just MO of course.
