Italian cypress questions

Well, google Italian Cypress and you find tall thin shaped trees, this one was shaped as a normal tree.
Now, what do I do with the seeds? Can I open the cones up or should I let them dry and pop open naturally?

Put them in a closed jar near a warm zone and they open quickly, plant them right away they germinate very easy
