Just starting here. Expecting a 12 hour plus period of winds gusting to near or over 70 mph. We get frequent wind storms around here with gusts
over 60 mph but rarely anything this long lasting.

Gonna be tough to sleep tonight. Stay safe!

Can't like that...wishing you safety from the winds as well. Town over...man lost his life from a falling tree. ? It's serious...no letting up wind. Trees aren't standing up to the consistent winds. Several without power...and more mentioning it on social media. Trees are toppling all over the place.

If it turns out anywhere near the forecast there will be over 100,000 customers without power in the Rochester area alone,
many for multiple days. That's what happened with the big storm in March 2017 and the duration of winds was much
shorter, though perhaps peak gusts were a little stronger (81 mph at Rochester officially). We'll see what happens. Fingers crossed.

We had 60+mph winds last night, not quite as bad today. It seems to be calming down some.

Storm didn't get as bad as expected here, I think the peak wind was 66 mph. Relatively little in the way of damage
and power outages. Hope the same for the rest of you!

Destroyed a substation in one area. Many without power. Snapped telephone poles in down town area...took down a "huge" oak tree near the neighbors. So large that it shook our windows when it hit the ground. I actually thought it was a tree in our ravine it seemed so close. No structural damage to our place though. Checked for holes in the siding...because we had the house battered with branches. It was horrid...Glad the worst is over...now only 30-45 mph we are seeing now. So nothing extreme after that. But we got through it...
