Jaboticaba has sprouted brown leaf pods, seemingly overnight?

My newly acquired (and first Bonsai) Jaboticaba has sprouted some odd brown leaf/pod things overnight on the very top of the tree...

They do not look like normal brown leafs though, they are ever so slightly fuzzy and some are almost pod shaped.

What are these? And are they a bad sign?

Should I cut them off?

It appears to be just a new growth spurt, so definitely a good sign. If you look closely those are just tiny new leaves so your tree must be happy with you, keep up the good work.

Normal color for jaboticaba...sometimes mine tend more toward red during the summer.

One additional thought, the new leaves do look a little like they're "sticking" so you might want to increase the humidity a bit...maybe give it a spray of water a couple of times a day.

Thank you all for the information - I appreciate it!

I will start giving it some sprays of water to help keep it humidified.

These trees trip me out,

If they look dead......do they look finished?

Lol.

Glad it's ok!
