I saw last year that the jack pine has made it to a couple German garden centers. It seems like you guys are doing a good advertising job for the species ;-)

Walter is the owner of the tree. As far as I know, the tree is now in Walters's garden. Some of the trees we were working on are for sale at Thomas Haering nursery in Zorneding near Munich.
Walter has quite a few of Jack Pines from someone who collected them in Poland. They were tested as species to cover hills of mining waste deposits in the past. I worked on tree back in 2019 and last month again. It is not my native turf so-to-speak, but it was a great experience and a lot of fun. Especially after quite a long time with pandemic fatigue.
