I was able to scoop up an awesome jack pine from a local nursery in the late fall that I thought would be great for working on. The only thing is it's still in it's nursery pot and I really want to get those roots out and give them a good chopping. I don't have a ton of experience with this kind of pine, can anyone tell me when the best time would be to work on the roots? Or for working on this kind of tree in general? I live in Chicago so spring is coming soon.....I hope =-)
