Jade lovers delight

Just curious, and I'm not trying to be a smart aleck, but it doesn't appear the wire is really doing anything, especially on the last two? I have never wired a jade, although I know some do. I guess i don't take mine too seriously.
The first one is mainly to adjust the branch angles. Hard to see but the very start of each branch is pretty thick so it took some heavy wire and anchoring. Trunk is too big (except at the top) to do much of anything with wire. There is also some branching on the back that you can't see in the pic.

The second one, it's to adjust what was a side shoot into the new leader - I recently did a big cutback. The wire is pretty loose by design since it's such a fresh shoot.

The forest, it's mainly support and to a lesser extent to keep them straight.

I probably wouldn't bother wiring a crassula but p afra can really benefit from wiring.

The two I have!

- C. Ovata I compacted from a very tall and straight one. Wiring them is a bit of a waste of time but I keep trying🥲

P. Afra I got from a construction site. The base is like 15cm and the movement can look cool, but it had a few big scars. It had a tough life. Not sure if I could cut these closer to the main trunk so they could eventually heal... For now I just got it to survive the repor and crazy root chops, get strength and cut to a base.

Sorry for the shitty pics, was in a rush.

I was on the fence about jades as bonsai, until I got busier. A tree that just needs the occasional clip-n-grow and won't die if a sudden heat wave dries it out? Yes plz!

My portulacaria in progress:

I do have crassulas too, but they're huge and unrefined. More like garden shrubs.

I hate them. They really get active in the fall, digging and destroying. I find all kinds of stuff sprouting in my tropical pots, when they come in for the winter.
Carol, they eat our orchids too which is so maddening. They say that Irish spring soap cut up and placed around will deter them but I thought...What happens when it rains? I don't want a soapy mess too.

I've never had this thing flower. Read here somewhere it helps to expose to come cold to promote this. It has been in this pot of DE for 5yrs. Going to let it feel low 40s this season to see if it helps.
I've seen the tips turn red in the past but never a flower.
Any tips?

Right.

I've never seen this variety flower though I have one (actually some, it's so easy to propagate) but I've seen the common species flower.
I think it needs to be a rather large size, and not pruned. The ones I saw flower were betwen 60 cm and 90 cm tall (2 to 3 feet), had not been pruned and were in deep containers, between 1/3rd and half the hight of the plant.

I've left my biggest one outside and now the temperatures are very close to 0° C (32 F). I'll bring it inside in a few days and add some "flowering fertilizer", the cheap liquid stuff you can buy in a supermarket. We'll see...

Where are you located, Aarnii?
Looks like Belgrade :)

This one looks to be doing something? What'cha think?

Looking good.

A single (green) leaf left on the soil without watering will take root, eve if it takes 2 or 3 weeks.

I have this one which I think is smaller (about 2 or less than 3 inches, about 6 cm), it's somewhat similar to yours :

The "mother plant", other cuttings. After two or three years, I saw that the "trunks" wouldn't fuse...

It looks those yellow leaves are about to fall off. I could be wrong but I believe they're dead.
Maybe but the tips of some look to me to be trying to flower. I could be wrong as I've never had one flower for me yet.

The "mother-plant" from which I took dozens of cuttings. At the end of the winter, and two days ago. It can still stay outside, the temps won't go below zero (0° C, 32 F). I just added some "Akadama" on top of the soil to prepare it for its winter inside.
