I think the humidity is the most importance! The season is also a factor. With hard wood cutting, the spring time is the best.I have had 100% failure (2 attempts out of 2) with hard wood cuttings of Chaenomeles.
Excess oxygen = stagnant?To refresh the stagnant air inside the container.
