Do you have a pic before defoliation? I'm curious to see what you class as very strong growth...

If ypu scroll up you will find a picture with very long growth, like two feet outside the silhouette. Normally I consider one foot strong growth.

Hi Walter,

I remember a wonderful multiple-trunk maple that was yours years ago, I think it was called "Aurora", but it's not this one, is it?

I think you wrote that it caught a disease, has it recovered?

Do you think that I change the guessed age of trees every year? I have a few hundred trees that I keep records about. The age is an educated guess from the start. It can stay at 40 years for fifteen years and suddenly I decide to change it to 50 or 60 .What's the problem? It is still an educated guess. Age is not really as important as it seems. Amateurs look at it. Old age means the tree is weak and might die soon.

Isn't this the tree you used to demonstrate the hedging techniques with? It looks very familiar.
