Japanese Maple - Kotohime in California?

I try to search the forum but didnt found any luck finding the answer. Anyone have experience with Kotohime in California?Is this possible in a Zone 9B climate? I search google and it says 6-9 zone.

Is that a grade of shade cloth I can acquire? I’ve never used a shade cloth before so I wouldn’t know how to achieve 30%.

They're sold in a given percentage of light blocked.
