I have several Japanese maples for sale. Although all these trees need a lot more development, I think they are all nice trees with good potential. PM if interested and please don't hesitate to ask me any questions. I will keep adding more trees here on this thread. Below is the first one. Thanks for looking!

MAPLE #1 $375 +shipping

This maple is short and very fat. I think eventually it will make a very nice, sumo shohin. Large scars are on their way to heal and others have completely closed up. Still a relatively young tree but I think good pre-bonsai material. It has a 3" trunk with a 6" root spread and 10" tall, but final design will probably end up being shorter. Even better in person!

You could probably sell this one pretty fast on Facebook through Bonsai Sales or Bonsai Classifieds... Not a much larger audience, but they are people specifically there TO buy or sell!

Great tree!

This maple was originally purchased from Colin Lewis this past year. Very good pre-bonsai material. I was going to either cut it all very short and create a beefy shohin out of it or keep it taller and cut out the straight trunk completely or just cut it short and try and grow a couple of additional trunks out of it. Depending on the angle, it has a trunk of about 3"+ and is 17" high.

This beefy maple came from the Growing Grounds in NC. It does not posses the classic, soft figure of a Japanese maple, but rather of an old oak or similar. If I kept it, I would style it as such and embrace all it's bulges and "imperfections". There is a large scar on one side. I would perhaps carve it and bring it down and make a feature out of it even if it ended being at the back. It can also be fixed by filling it with concrete mix and let it heal over. There are small branches coming out from the bottom that could be used in the design. Nebari is nice and powerful. It has a 3.5" trunk with a 5"+ nebari depending on the viewing angle and is 17" high.

This is a 4" shohin maple with a 2" trunk at the present soil line but even wider down below. I know this because I air layered it last year and placed it on a larger pot to develop the roots which go all the way around the trunk. The tree of course needs more development and refinement. It is an old tree as evidenced by the grey, fissured bark. The wide, flaring base is very nice! This tree was originally imported from Japan.

This tree is pretty big at 30" high. From the front is has a trunk width of 3" spreading to a 9" nebari. It still needs lots of development but I think it can make for a nice tree one day. Clean, virtually scarless trunk all the way up. The large chop at the back is almost completely healed and it makes for a nice transition to the next trunk segment. It will need root grafts, specially at the back to improve the nebari further. I originally purchased this tree from someone who collected it from the wild in NJ. It is an old tree by looking at the grey bark all the way up.

I was not going to sell this one but I decided at the last minute to do so. This tree is about 35 years old and out of the ones I'm selling, this one has perhaps the most history. It was owned and worked on by Chase Rosade for 25 years and belonged in his private collection. I have owned it for about the last 4 years. The tree is in perfect health. All big cuts are either almost closed up or completely healed. Great bark and character with very good taper. I just cut it back and wired it a bit. I left the apex longer than needed just in case of dieback. Not sure as to the variety but it is definitely not a standard green maple judging by the shape of the leaves. It has a 2.75" trunk having a root spread of about 5"+ and 17" tall but final design will probably end up being shorter.

I had no idea you were selling so many trees. Wow.

Yes, have to finance some more things I need to do in the garden to get it finished.

As a side note, I was asked about the health of one of the trees. Let me just say, that all trees for sale are in perfect health. I would not ever sell a tree that was sick or dying.
