I have a small japanese white pine purchased online about 3,4 months ago. Haven't done anything with it, it's still in original nursery pot.

It looks healthy overall, see first photo. However, just noticed at the back of the tree there is a branch turning brown, and seems the branch will die.

Could it simply because this branch is always in the back close to a wall, and did no get enough sunlight?
Thanks!

Not sure this is cause but you should make sure the tree gets light on all sides. I rotate mine once a week. If against a wall maybe more.

Check the branch for fungus or insect damage. Look for sap or black powdery growth on the bark.

Have you been having a ton of rain recently?
