Anybody have styling advice for this Japanese White Pine?

Just pull the foliage down, and closer to the trunk? And try to make some foliage pads?

Also, any insight into the yellowing needles? Think it’s caused by drought?

Nice little tree. I have a Ponderosa pine that I have only had for about 8 mo. But it's shape reminds me so much of yours. This is what I did for an initial styling on mine. If this is something that appeals to you you might see if it would work for you. As far as the, possible, Needle cast, I alternate Daconil and a copper fungicide each week. Seems to be working . I think watering is more critical with a Japanese white pine than it is with PP.
I have not had the best luck with WP. It's important to get that correct overwatering can be as detrimental as under watering. Good luck with it.
