Japanese White Pine turned out better than my Japanese black pine

So as many of you may have read my last post...that my JBP collection isn't doing so great...but when i checked my JWP today...all of them are healthy and green...kinda strange...here are a few photos...gonna repot them this year.

Might have something to do with your location. Maybe too cold for black pine? But just right for a white pine?

These were in a greenhouse not in the garage...also can anyone give me directions on the older tree of the base? It seems to be growing into the white pines outer layer.

The base is probably Japanese black pine. If you don't like the graft union you can try to hide it with foliage when you wire and style.

I like the trunk just need to decide on which is the front...any idea is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Definently grafted, we had a very cold winter down here, my blacks took a beating but the whites looked very lush and healthy there all on there own roots.
