hey guys so i got this little japenese boxwood as a gift on january 12th from one of my bonsai friends i have made as i been in this hobby (have met so many legit badass people throught my experience so far)

anyway he gave me this boxwood because he said i was a good friend so i of course couldnt say no

he gave me the tree and the pot which from my experience was WAY too small for this boxwood he had given me in a 1 gallon pot, althought i do not have dimensions for pot it is rather small as you will see, after asking him about 20 thousand times if it really was fine to cut the shit out the roots like that and stuff it in this tiny pot and he kept teling me to do it lol so i did, it i aint no bitch either you feel

so as u can see that was savage. i wanted to post this thread because been a noob this was one of the coolest/funnest experiences ive had so far doing bonsai, just seeing how boxwoods can take considerable damage while been healthy and bounce back up because as of yesterday this little boxwood is THRIVING yo

so now that its been a couple months and i know forsure it made it and its growing nicely, i had to address the fact the tree is wayyyyy too tall for the pot and for a decent shohin size tree so i knew what i had to do it was obvious since i got it, chop the top off?

so now im going to let it grow unchecked for a while, prolly mid summer or depends how fast it grows ill choose a new continuation of trunk and apex and then work on the structure? ichi, ni apex n stuff idk lemme know what yall think 👍🏻 i appreciate yall
