Ive heard rooting cuttings is easy but will Jaqueline hillier elM grow from root cuttings like other elms?

I put mine in a big pot to grow out a little and was wondering when it comes time to repot if some of the coarse roots I remove should be saved and potted up.

I use perlite, hormone is fine but probably not required.

Take them early in the year- just before or just after leaf break...
But you can take them all the way up to mid summer depending on your location.

You will know they have rooted when the cuttings start growing

Just as Eric says. I know because I have one from him that he did.

My advice is to ground grow one as a stock plant and then take layers from it. They are like a triffid and grow faster than a trident maple - at least here in the UK they do!
