JBP and JRP Seeds

Close to three weeks ago I sowed seeds for both Japanese Black and Red Pines. I did it in kind of a hurry and completely forgot to soak them for 24hr. I haven’t don’t many trees from seed and wondering if I’ll get any germination with that step missing. Was over 100 seeds each.

Both black and red pines grow without soaking first. They seem to have managed fine for millions of years without all the bells and whistles that humans have added to the germination process.
I get really good germination of both species without any pre-treatment at all. Just sow and put the trays outside for nature to manage.

Excellent point I am embarrassed to not have realized.

I’ll have to be More patient then!
