My progression thread on Japanese Black Pine... nothing really done since I bought it. Will be doing some work later this year but thought I'll post the pictures ahead... maybe somebody will have some remarks/ideas. 4 pictures... 4 sides of the tree. Currently fed a lot with quite balanced candles all around the tree.

18th of June... decandled with some tweaks. Left 4 sacrifice branches... even though I don’t want it to be too ‘fat’ little bit more meat probably not too bad... currently 1.5 inches at base. 4 because I don’t want to have huge scars so think next year winter they will go anyway. Put some guy wires... trying to cover for the gap between leading branch on the right and the top... think manageable. Also have some smaller branches from upper layer that can cover this space. Left top of the tree as it was... opening up lower layers to get some back budding... need compression. Cut some branches to last year growth... the person I brought it from was nice enough and did not remove the needles... probably had same plan. Already see some buds coming up... looking forward to some strong growth.
Plan for this winter is to remove all junctions to 2 branches and cut some bottom and unnecessary growth... for now left it there.
