And here I was wondering when Jennifer sent this picture and talked about Michael, the potter. I don't know a potter called Michael. well, now it turns out to be sorce, the famous potter. this makes more sense. And Jennifer has no clue about sorce. She does not know whether this man makes sense or not because she never reads here.
What Jennifer has produced is the very first reasonable design from ugly stumps. This is certainly not the end product, but it is the crucial start. This is very demanding physically. She works with heavy gear, like chainsaw side cutter and a big power saw and huge cutters. We think that this shod not be done by the students because it is very dangerous. It is kind of ironic that a slim girl does it for them. And it is not so easy to choose what to leave, what to take off, where to cut a hole, where not.
The aim is to create something which gives the innocent viewer an idea of what could become of this after a few year's growth - while the same viewer cold not see anything in a stump but ugly fire wood.
There will be much more detailed carving needed and much more new growth. The plan is to have special carving classes at Hidden Gardens with Jennifer and Will Baddely to go from here.
How small has the world become! I am sitting here on Sunday morning 5,0000 miles away where it is deep night and muse about stumps as if they were just outside my window.
Anyway, thanks sorce for posting
