Hey guys,

My father is Superintendent of Grounds at John Deere World HQ in Moline, IL. In the main building, they have a large indoor atrium and he took me in to show me and a few friends around. I the building is in zone 5, but all plants indoors are tropicals. The ficus tree are benjamin ficus and are all the original ones planted from 1964. There are also orange trees, but conditions are not the best for them, they produce fruit, but its like bitting into a lemon other plants are various herbaceous plants (not familiar with tropicals). Also in the pictures are the main pond and the production and storage greenhouse where plants are kept if they are not in the atrium. Most of the plants are planted in pots and are then placed in pots in the ground for quick switching. All plants are potted in coconut husk core and have incredible root systems. Just thought i'd share, wouldn't mind having one in my house :p, enjoy

Hey

They still have the koi in the outside pond? Would take the kids over there back in the 80's to feed them. They had some huge ones, not the best quality, but they were big. Also had some geese with attitudes :). Haven't been there in 20 years or so, ha.

yep geese and swans are still mean as heck. koi are still there, and huge. they actually have a japanese garden (not accessible to the general public) but my dad says they have been having serious issues with deer eating basically everything, so now its really just boxwoods, hostas, and rocks haha
