David De Groot and his Team at the Weyerhauser bonsai collection is setting up this event even as I type. It opens tomorrow as is my usual style, I'll be waiting first in line to get it recorded
on the "nut" for all to enjoy. Oregon is about a 3 plus hr drive down and th same back, so it's a pretty good effort to show the work of some of the best in Oregon. I know i'm looking forward to it.

David's aggressive schedule of events keeps them ever in motion but certainly dispels the rumors from years back, Oh, I thought they're closed! hate to think of all they have been missing.
Least you guys won't be :)

see ya tomorrow... ( with dem pics)

While i was waiting for the finishing touches to be put on the display, I got a chance to do a little prep work, so that was fun for me.
beautiful trees and talented artistry. So now for the tedious part of getting pics posted :)

the last pic of the tree is shohin sized. I know at time it's hard to get relative size.

In addition to the wonderful bonsai on display, at the entrance way there is an enclosed area housing a wonderful array of sumi-e ink artistry (last signage pic)

Wow, that's some good stuff! Thanks for posting the bios alongside the trees. It really makes a difference to see how it was created.
Thanks so much for this post.

your welcome judy! If I had to pick a favorite, the lodgepole would certainly have been on the top of my list :)

All are really nice and I would liked to have seen these in person; however, your photos are very nice.

Don't know that I could choose a favorite but the Scot's pine really caught my eye.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting the photos, these are some beautiful trees. The ginkgo is unusual and impressive. It would be interesting tree leafless.
