is it ok to do hard pruning on Junipers at this time. I have a new Juniper that I purchased at House of bonsai in California. Some how I have been having problems with Junipers growing in Las Vegas.
I've been taught that hard pruning junipers is best done in spring, but only if you aren't also repotting. Light pruning can be done in autumn, but only if you haven't repotted in the previous spring.
I've done hard work in the middle of winter. Like sawing trees vertically in half hard work.
They lived with zero aftercare.
Junipers can be tough if you know what breaks them and steer away from that.
Hard pruning in winter can be done if you don't touch the roots.
But the safest would be another season than fall.
