Juniper damage

I’ve had this tree for a while and one day looked at it and I found this damage on one of my limbs any clue as to what it could be we’ve had some heavy rainfalls but I don’t think is caused this.

Nothing to worry about, looks like it could have been nicked by a foot, mower, dog, squirrel. Also looks like it’s healing well.

This damage already has callus tissue, which means the damage is at least 3 weeks old.
Rabbit damage is possible, the branch touching the pot rim and the wind damaging it is possible, there are a few hundred extra possibilities.
Whatever it was, it's healing. Which is a good sign.

Sweet thank you guys so much! I bet it’s my dog however we have a bunch of rabbits in the area what do you think I could if anything to prevent this in the future?

Can not extol the virtues of the critter catapault enough. I believe this can be modified to launch any nuisance animal from monkey on down to roof rat and anything in between.
