I recently purchased this Juniper at an auction and I have no idea what species it is, anyone able to clue me in?

It looks like J. chinensis to me. Quite a nice tree.

BUT: Those two lower branches have to go -- for many reasons.

I haven't even started to think about styling this tree yet. The foliage is quite yellow and about 1/3 is juvenile foliage. The only thing I've done is put a little lime sulfur on the deadwood to preserve it. If I can get it to look healthy and growing well next year then I'll think about styling. Thanks for the input though, I know it does need some work.

Make sure you aren't overwatering, and add a fertilizer with iron, or a bit of epsom salts, if it hasn't yellowed due to overwatering.

Nice little trunk, plenty of potential.
