Hey all,
I have a question about removing the sharp brown needles on juniper branched just below the foliage. My procumbens and prostratas bud at the base of these needles. If they are removed for wiring and aesthetics, will that also stop the budding?
Thanks,
Tona

Sounds like it's healthy if it's backbudding.

Not usually. In fact removal of the old dead stuff will make it bud more. Just be careful when removing and use tweezers and pull straight out. Tearing downward will destroy the Ad bud.

Thanks Al,
That's all I needed. I said hello to Michael Jonas for you last night at the club meeting per your response to my other post.
