I recently grafted some itoigawa foilage on to Juniperus scopulorum .
How long before I know they fail ?
Do they turn brown right away or do they tease you and stay green for months ?

BTW, If anyone asks you about Bonide Granular Fungicide, you don't know me.....

Last year, I used the parafilm cocoon method to side graft 'Kishu' scions onto Juniperus virginiana.
I had very little success - about 15%. The first failures turned pale then brown after about 6 weeks.
A couple failures stayed green for 3 months.

Well, you can take a juniper cutting and toss it on your bench, and as long as it isn't in direct sun it will stay green for weeks...

I have had cuttings that stay green for six months and then fail. I don't know that it is a perfect comparison, but juniper grafting is definitely not an overnight experience.
