A nursery near me is (sadly) going out of business and they have a ton of Sabinas for a whopping ten bucks for a decent 2 gal. I’ve pretty much limited my collection to Shimpaku and a couple of Procumbrens, so have no experience with them. The foliage looks quite nice, almost as good as my itoigawas when they are vigorously pushing growth.

So are these worth working on? They might cut down to nice little shohin.

I don't know the buffalo variety, but sabina junipers are fun to work with.
Working them hard does induce juvenile foliage for roughly half a season, after which they convert back to scale again.

I can recommend using gloves; sabina junipers contain sabinol, which can cause quite an itch.
