I might be moving to some land of about 120 acres. We have a lot of Juniperus Virginianas there. All of course is are perfectly straight trunked, which is fun for some but not all. What could i do to change this?
If the trunks are of any size it will make bending that much more difficult.
Nothing necessarily wrong with a straight trunk, as long as the styling compliments it.
If one has a lot of these, you should try some forest plantings.
You might have someone bushhog an acre or two, then let the chopped stubs grow, repeat, etc. In a few years you may have some with an interesting shape. Otherwise, they're difficult, except, perhaps, as shohin or smaller.
Here is an example of what you can do with a smaller tree that has been browsed by some kind of animal, they wired heavily for a year or two. I did the trunk first, and now I am doing the branches I decided to keep.
The first has a bit better base at this point. The second displays the shari. Another front may yet present itself.
