Just intruducing myself.

Hi,
My name is Pete and I am out of Brewerton, NY. I am new to bonsai and this forum and would just like to introduce myself. I became interested back when I was only 13 and now I am 29 so I figure in a hobby like this starting young is an advantage. This years projects: I have planted a japanese maple in the ground with a wire turniquet above the graft to ground layer, and 2 Sargent junipers in pond baskets, one larger sargent that will go in ground and 7 juniper cuttings to grow into whips. Will post Threads on my progress soon. Nice meeting you all!

I'm pretty sure I was 29 once but I can't say I remember it.

Not only do you have age going for you, it sounds like you have good plans for your trees, which is not always the case with someone just starting out.

Is there a club in your area? That may be the one thing folks on this forum agree on - join a club if you can.

I have seen there is BCCNY closest to me however a couple of emails have gone unanswered ,I will try again.BSUNY out of Rochester is a drive but heard it was a very good club.

If you haven't been out here, I'd recommend checking out Bill V's open house in early September. Send me a PM if you'd like any additional info about the open house or the local club (BSUNY). There are members who travel to club meetings from the Syracuse area.
