Well we will probably find 15 or more natives to Bonsai,
but the thinning out has begun.

Lucked out and got two home grown Cultivars - the Fustic [ nickname - Tropical Zelkova ]
and a tamarind, that has naturally smaller leaves and more branchlets.

To further the work on the Fustic, 5 more Mica pots were purchased and 5 plants from
cuttings off of the mother are in the growing trough.
The first has a 3 inch trunk and is healing a 2 inch wound.
Thus far 1 year of growth going into 2 years by say April next year.

We know from a previous effort that it needs a top shoot to
expand the trunk and 1 year to go to 3 inches [ 8 cm ]
This is a hardwood tree, with poisonous sap.
The cut is taking it's time to heal and the next stage is the
6 branches, before being placed in a mica pot. Then for
branchlets.

So the focus is now locals.
All the Chinese stuff is being given away, save for Mother elm
and a few Sageretia t.

Been testing the watering time and with a 10 minute of watering
, 1 pass - up to 70 - 12 inch tall trees can be watered.
Thus with the 15 minute rest in between waterings, about 30 minutes
a day.
Since the morning is twice and evening once.

About 5 J.B.pines will be kept and perhaps 5 Caribbean pine blends.

Now to locate Celtis i. and the other trees / shrubs.

The linit of 30 to 50/60 trees comes from a book written by a chap
in California - good advice.
Good Day
