So six of us got together yesterday,

we are all in the late 50's category.
Started Bonsai from 17 to 24 years of age.
As old friends we get together to chat or help with heavy repottings.
Some have younger hands that also come to help. New friends.

When the Bonsai Society of Trinidad started in the early 90's we dropped
out because we felt Bonsai works as friends, not a club.
Well they started with around 200 newbes and very soon ended up
as 15 or so with any real interest.

Took a look at the next Bonsai club since 2016, same problem with
a twist. Probably more on-line members than in the club.

Plus watched the burn-out already beginning.

As friends the situation lasts.

Now we are trying to secure 3 lots to half an acre, to store the work.
We are essentially independant, seeds, seedlings, airlayers, make our
own pots, metal stands, and if needed can cast concave pruners etc.
Take our inspiration from mature local trees, extracting what is best from
say 10 to 20 trees of the same type, as Design goes.

Watching the club folk burn out.

Friendship, the best.
Good Day
