So we were down at the seashore.
About 75 feet [ 22.9 m ] above the sea,
Area has heavy seablast. A friend wants to try a new technique.
Taking out a battery powered saw, a pencil thick victim is selected
and he cuts out a shape [ cube ] about 10 inches [ 25.4 cm ]
in the clay ------- hole is refilled.

It is clay [ and will cleaned for pot making ]

So he takes it home.
Places in abucket of water as the clay is a little dry.
Next day we get together at his house.
He carefully lifts his prize out and the clay falls off in small
shapes.
He goes into shock, and we cannot stop laughing.

So much salt in the clay, it causes it to lose it's natural
adhesiveness.
Fortunately, we have experience with this shrub. The salt
has no effect on the roots and the tree does not use salt
in it's growing, so he is safe,

Clay is collected and dried, to be water processed for
put making.

BUT the plant shows no side shoots only a very few lengths of root.
As expected of clay soils.
A larger plant would probably just die,
Happy New Year,
Anthony
