May not even be worth the post but I have to share with someone who can nerd out as much as me. Thanks in advance.

First of two shipments - pruner (man it feels so good in my hand, can’t wait) and brass brush. Of course I still prefer my old toothbrushes as of now :)

Next shipment will be long scissors and ROUNDED concave cutters which I’m most excited about.

All stainless, debated hard but Michigan is humid so went this route vs carbon steel.

Surprisingly reasonable prices, same as American Bonsai tools all considered.

Planning to get one of their belts.

Ordered these directly from Kaneshin to support them.

Final two Kaneshin items came in today, fast shipping from Japan!

So excited to use the new tools. Long scissors, pruning shears with spring, rounded concave cutters (carbon), brass brush and root hook from Kaneshin. Rest are mix of amazing cheap and Tian bonsai (seems decent).

Cheers to spring coming soon and hopefully no more purchases.

I’m picturing you knee deep in snow hovering over a tree, with a tool in hand, planning out and mimicking your Spring moves.

Minus the tool, this has most definitely been frequently happening this winter. 😂 how soon will you do any significant pruning for 6a, fellow Michigander?

Kaneshin makes great tools at a reasonable price point. Out of my mish mash of over 20 tools collected over the last 20+ years, I have 4 or 5 Kaneshin and consider them my best tools, Fwiw, MI has nuthin' on GA when it comes to humidity and I'm almost 100% carbon steel here... keep your clean and oiled and humidity isn't a problem.
