I treated myself to an early christmas.
Wanted to buy local but the itoigawa I kept open in my browser tab for three days were all sold out. So I figured to shop internationally.

Decently priced: 6 euros a piece, 20 euros shipping.

For reference: local itoigawa of a similar size were 12-16 euros a piece, 7 euro shippping.
So the break even point was just four plants.

Communication was superb, I love Portuguese although it's a difficult language. Every stage of the process was documented and emailed to me.

Questions in English were answered within two days, in English.

The material was well packaged, double cardboard and individually wrapped & taped pots. Shipping from Portugal to NL took roughly a week and a half.

No visible scale or spider mites, nice healthy foliage color.

Overall a good experience! Would recommend!

Both! I have some older specimens that have some good branches which I plan to use as scions. Those trees are twisted up, but to keep the interior foliage intact I'll need to cut them back regularly and that'll yield me both cuttings as well as scions. These new ones definitely need more years of growing, but they'll end up in the same kind of system.
