While I was in Sacramento a few weeks back, I purchased this small Kiyohime Maple.

While it has a nice trunk, the branches are all over the place. I was able to remove a few and thin it out. Now the tree looks more proportioned for how small it is. the tree stands 6 inches tall with a 6 inch spread on the canopy. The trunk is just shy of 1 inch at the base and only about 1 inch before it starts branching.

Very nice little tree. Looks like it has a nice flared base, but have you exposed any nebari yet? I imagine it might sit a smidge taller if you do, but if so I don't think it'd hurt the proportions at all.

I'm savin that for another day. Don't want to get too excited all at once. Hopeing there is much to reveal under the soil!

Maybe on my birthday in July!

Very neat tree! May I ask where you found this in Sacramento? And do they ship?
