Hi all.

I know there are only a few B-nuts in Japan, and the borders are still closed tight, so I thought some of you might enjoy some photos. I went today in the snow and the rain, which meant I basically had the place to myself.

If anyone else has attended, feel free to add your own photos. I only took pictures of what really jumped out at me.

I'll post a second batch when I attend part 2 next week:

Enjoy,

@Yamabudoudanshi Thank you for sharing! Did you happen to get a full-shot picture that might include the tombstone?

I included the picture (link below) shared by the Japan Bonsai Association (一般社団法人 日本盆栽協会), which also does not capture the information.

I did actually, and that's it. I meant to look it up myself, as I haden't seen one before.

Thank you! I am looking forward to this years book. If things open up again I’d like to go myself someday, and that may actually be an achievable goal.

Thank you for taking the time to post these. Interesting to note the curved slab and root stand on the slant pine!

This one freaked me out actually. When I got down low to look, it was balanced on a tiny area. So small in fact, that it looked like pruning a small branch or two would have it tip in the opposite direction.

Someone took the time to get it right. My first thought was it was a little edgy for the typical Japanese aesthetic. Who says traditional is non changing! Reminds me of the initial appearance of much more open designs in the Japanese Shows, leaning away from the much more dense and rounded traditional forms.
