Larch branch dead or will come late

This is my second year since I asked this question and after that, I have been doing this trick. Not even the thinnest branch which was only as thin as hair has died. What I do is put transparent plastic on the top. That's it.

I have one right now that has branches budding out later than others.
I think its just a thing some larches do.
