Spectacular as always Jerry!
What is your secret to keeping your Korean Hornbeam leaves from good brown and falling off before the autumn colors set in?

I see you have one bare one already, which was in shade?!o_O
I would've thought that the shady spot was best for that...

POM - no, I'm hoping for backbudding.

I have over 10 years of photos for most of them - many progressions.

There's no actual secret - I've kind of come to the conclusion that some DO have nice autumn/fall colours/colors and others simply don't.

It doesn't seem to matter what I do. I'll look back over the years of photos - but I think that certain trees simply don't get nice.

Your trees and pots have some great character. The white, shallow pot with the larch is an interesting choice. It's also cool to see a zelkova styled as something other than a formal broom. I like what you've done.

I love the toadstools on the larch. Also what you've done with the amur maple gives me an idea for this privet, I've been debating which branches to keep, but maybe the answer is to lose all of them?20170921_075812.jpg:

Completely agree I have 5 or 6 all in the same shelf of my bench, two that I got from one source go brown and drop early, the others are slowly turning and much prettier... at first I thought the 'ugly' ones might not be full Koreans??

@jeremy_norbury how long have you been doing bonsai Jeremy? I am very envious of your collection. It is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
