here is the deer i had her make me for my scroll. I was very happy with it. Then she unveiled
a crow with a winter snowing scene. I almost lost it. I have never been drawn to a piece of art so strongly. I can't believe i was able to get it. I'm gonna post it immediately in my tokonoma. even tho the season is wrong. It will make me think cool during the heat of summer. She is not inexpensive but I've got to maybe find a bear fishing salmon or a fox hunting mice in the field,
somewhere in my budget!!!! My camera work isn't the best, they look SOOOOO good in person!

I talked to Hiroko today and she has agreed to do a bear standing in the falls fishing for salmon. feel like a kid in anticipation of christmas :)

Dick have you gotten into sueseki (sp) yet, he says as the fishing reel starts to go .... click................click..........click.......click....click..

Cool stuff, easy to fall into all the goodies that go along with bonsai, isn't it.

yes, I have gotten into suiseki. part of the enjoyment is wading streams like i did when i was a kid while fishing. Water levels this year still high but hopeful to
do some wading here soon now that it's august! It is easy to take an interest in many hobbies japanese including chrysanthemums and ikebana.

Brian, glad you like the crow. It's such a departure over what she usually does, which is so white and clean looking.

The raven is cool, reminds me of a cartoon film noir.

today's the day I get to see Hiroko's next work. The anticipation is tangeable, yet so confident in her previous work. I'll start a new topic as soon as i get back with the photo. What was perfect yesterday, a friend went salmon fishing and caught some nice chinook and gave me one, so when i got word from hiroko that the bear was done, I got to have a meal of fresh salmon myself. :)
